The Oxford Police Department recently recognized one of their dispatchers for outstanding work during severe weather.

According to the OPD Facebook page, during a severe thunderstorm with high winds, Jhoanna Veliz single-handedly managed dispatch operations, expertly handling emergencies, road blockages, power outages, and accidents with professionalism and efficiency.

Her calm, composed response ensured swift coordination of EMS, wreckers, and officers, all while managing routine calls.
