The Mississippi Senate and House of Representatives passed legislation Friday providing $160,000,000 to allow for the four-laning of Highway 7 South from the Highway 7/Belk Boulevard Intersection to the Highway 7/9 roundabout.

This along with the $15,000,000 appropriated for the project in 2023 will allow for this much-needed improvement to be a reality.

According to Kara Witherspoon Giles, Executive Assistant to the Mayor,

“The success is a result of local and state leaders working collectively and will improve the safety, quality of life, and economic opportunity for our community and those around us.”
