A Jackson man is dead after a one-vehicle accident on Highway 49 Sunday.
Authorities say around 9:49 a.m. the Mississippi Highway Patrol responded to a one-vehicle crash on US-49 North near Pinehaven Drive in Hinds County.
A 2008 Ford driven by 53-year-old Parrish Lancaster was traveling north on US-49 when it ran off the road and collided with a tree. Parrish Lancaster received fatal injuries from the crash and was pronounced deceased at UMMC.
This crash remains under investigation by the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
