On October 5, at 9:00 p.m., Tupelo police officers were called to West Main Street and Broadway for a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian.
A male pedestrian was found at the scene in critical condition. He was transported to NMMC Emergency Room where he later died.
The driver and passenger of a Volkswagen Jetta were on the scene and gave statements. Witnesses on the scene were also interviewed by police.
Preliminary data did not indicate any criminal intent however the incident is still under investigation.
