On Saturday, March 9, at approximately 9:35 a.m., the Claiborne County Sheriff’s Department received a call from the Patient’s Choice Hospital that a male subject had arrived there with a gunshot wound to the face.
During the investigation, authorities learned that this shooting took place near Magnolia Apartment complex, within the city limits.
After further investigation, the suspect was identified as 19-year-old Dontaye Sheppard of Port Gibson.
Sheppard was arraigned on March 10th and his bond was denied.
