The Crystal Springs Police Department is investigating a shooting that happened last night around 8:00 p.m.

According to Chief Tony Hemphill, the shooting happened on North Jackson Street and East Georgetown Street.

One man was shot multiple times and is at UMMC being treated for his injuries. His injuries are non-life-threatening.

Two officers happened to be standing near the area and immediately took the suspect into custody and administered first aid to the victim.

The suspect has been identified as Wayne Rogerick Laster.

This was an isolated incident and nobody else was injured.
