Ocean Springs Declares Local State of Emergency Ahead of Tropical Storm Francine

In preparation for the approaching Tropical Storm Francine, the City of Ocean Springs has declared a local state of emergency. To help residents, sand and sandbags will be available starting Tuesday, September 10, at 10:00 a.m. at two locations:

  • Ocean Springs Public Works, 712 Pine Dr.
  • Fire Station, 3901 Highway 57 South

The sand and sandbags are self-service and will be available 24/7 until supplies run out.

Residents are encouraged to bring their own shovels. For any questions, contact Public Works at 228-875-3955.

City officials, alongside the Ocean Springs Emergency Operations Center, will continue to monitor Tropical Storm Francine as it develops.
