According to WTVA, nine children were removed from their home in the small town of Thaxton, North Mississippi, after their parents tested positive for methamphetamine use.

Child Protective Services (CPS) took action on Friday to remove the children from a home on Graham Road in the Thaxton community.

Pontotoc County Sheriff Leo Mask stated that the investigation began two weeks ago following a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Sheriff Mask reported that the parents have not been charged, and their names are not being released at this time. Due to the sensitive nature of the case, involving minors, further details of the investigation are also being withheld.

The operation to remove the children was conducted with the help of the special victims unit, patrol deputies, and school resource officers from the Pontotoc County Sheriff’s Office.
