
SCOTT COUNTY — The Scott County Sheriff’s Office spent the weekend participating in several community events aimed at building relationships and supporting local organizations.
Deputies attended an event at El Pueblo in Forest, where they met with members of the Hispanic community to discuss concerns and strengthen communication.
“We appreciate the invitation from El Pueblo in Forest, where we had the opportunity to listen, learn, and discuss concerns affecting our Hispanic community,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement. “Building relationships through open communication is an important part of serving everyone in Scott County.”
The sheriff’s office also visited Men’s Adult & Teen Challenge, where deputies shared a devotional focused on faith, hope and perseverance with participants in the recovery program.
Officials said they were grateful for the opportunity to encourage the men as they continue their recovery and personal transformation.
The weekend concluded with deputies attending the 150th homecoming celebration at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church.
The sheriff’s office congratulated the congregation on reaching the milestone, recognizing the church’s 150 years of ministry and service to the Scott County community.
