MADISON — A delivery driver was arrested Sunday after allegedly damaging a cash register and throwing it at a Taco Bell employee during a disturbance at the restaurant, according to the Madison Police Department.
Officers responded to Taco Bell, located at 1853 Main St., at approximately 2:35 p.m. Sunday after receiving reports of a disturbance involving a delivery driver.
According to police, officers determined that John Michael Beall became upset after attempting to pick up a delivery order that was not yet ready.
During the incident, Beall allegedly became irate, damaged a cash register inside the restaurant and threw it at an employee.
Police said Beall then left the business and attempted to drive away.
Officers made contact with Beall in the restaurant parking lot and took him into custody without incident.
Beall was charged with misdemeanor malicious mischief and simple assault by threat. He was later released on bond.
The case is scheduled to be presented before Madison Municipal Court.
