A correctional officer from the East Mississippi Correctional Facility was arrested on July 2, on charges of sexual penetration of an incarcerated offender.
The officer, Ashley Thompson, a 30-year-old female resident of Lake, MS, was taken into custody by the Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC).
According to booking records, the arrest happened on Tuesday at 4:52 pm.
Thompson was charged with the offense of engaging in sexual conduct with an inmate. She was held on a $20,000 bond and released the following day at 1:30 am.
