On Sunday night, September 22, the Criminal Investigation Division’s (CID) Special Victim’s Unit arrested Johnathan Craig Wren, a 53-year-old male from Monroe County, MS.

Wren has been charged with Domestic Violence-Aggravated Assault following an investigation into a strangulation assault on his spouse.

The incident occurred in the early morning hours of Thursday, September 12, 2024, in the Spain Road area. The Special Victim’s Unit has been conducting a thorough investigation since the assault was reported, which led to Wren’s arrest.

Following his arrest, a Pontotoc County Justice Court Judge set Wren’s bond at $10,000.

The case remains under investigation as authorities work to gather more information regarding the incident.
