Mississippi State Department of Health Launches Free Transportation Program for Health Services

Morgan Howard

The Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH) announced the launch of its new program, Transportation to Health, offering free rides to and from county health departments and participating pharmacies for essential health services and WIC appointments.

This initiative, funded by federal grants, aims to ensure that all residents can access the care they need.

Residents can easily schedule a ride by requesting transportation when making an appointment or by calling 855-767-0170 at least 30 minutes before their scheduled time. Those needing transportation to pick up a prescription can also arrange a ride or add a stop by calling the same number.

In addition, MSDH is seeking Uber drivers across various counties to support this program. Adults interested in becoming drivers can apply through Uber.

“Access to care is vital—let us help you get there!”

MSDH encourages all residents in need of transportation to take advantage of this program. For more information, visit the link in their bio.
