According to WTOK, a fatal crash occurred early Wednesday morning, September 25, near Magnolia Hill Road on U.S. 84 West.

The Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP) reported that the accident, which involved a Nissan Altima and a Dodge Ram, took place around 5 a.m.

MHP confirmed that one person died in the crash, but no other injuries were reported.

In the aftermath of the wreck, westbound traffic on U.S. 84 was closed for over an hour as first responders worked the scene.

Traffic has since resumed, but it remains limited to one lane as authorities continue their investigation into the cause of the crash.
