G.W. Carver Elementary School in Meridian is on lockdown as MPD officers deal with a subject who’s barricaded themselves inside a home near the school.
Acting Captain Dareall Thompson with Meridian Police Department said officers attempted to serve a felony warrant in the 44th Ave. and 9th Street, that’s when the subject barricaded himself into the residence.
Carver Elementary Campus Police placed the nearby school on lockdown, all students are safe.
