Mendenhall woman charged with stabbing of man in Flowood

A man was stabbed Saturday morning and Flowood police say it was done by a female who fled the scene.

A release from Flowood Police Department received a 911 call early Saturday stating that a male and female were involved in a disturbance at a business in Flowood.

Police say the woman had stabbed the man once in his arm and cut the tires on his vehicle. Officers responded to the scene and discovered that both people involved were from Mendenhall and that the woman had fled the scene.

She was taken into custody a short time later by the Simpson County Sheriff’s Department and held for Flowood. The victim was treated by medical personnel at the scene and suffered a non life threatening injury.

The case will be forwarded to the Rankin County District Attorney’s office for prosecution. Flowood PD thanks Simpson County SO for their assistance with capturing the suspect.
