Married Couple Arrested On Multiple Drug Charges In Hattiesburg

A married couple in their 60s were arrested after what Hattiesburg Police found in their home.
On Tuesday, April 2, with the assistance of Mississippi Coast Crime Stoppers, Hattiesburg Police Special Operations arrested two individuals on multiple drug-related charges after executing a search warrant at a residence in the 300 block of May Avenue.
Hattiesburg Police seized approximately 645 grams of marijuana; 14.8 grams of cocaine; 316 dosage units of ecstasy; three (3) firearms; and $5,650 in cash from the residence.
James Earl Watts, 66, and Trisha Ann Watts, 66, both of Hattiesburg, were taken into custody without incident and charged with the following:
▪ One (1) count of controlled substance: possession with intent to distribute (PWID) — Marijuana
▪ One (1) count of controlled substance: PWID — Schedule I – II Drug
▪ One (1) count of controlled substance: trafficking (Ecstasy)
▪ One (1) count of controlled substance: sale within proximity of schools, church, park
▪ One (1) count of controlled substance: enhanced penalty: possession of a firearm at crime/arrest
James Watts was also charged with one (1) count of weapon, possession by a convicted felon.
James and Trisha Watts have both been booked into the Forrest County Jail.
