On September 23, 2023 Tupelo police responded to an armed robbery at a business on South Gloster Street.
Employees told officers that a person had used what appeared to be a gun to rob the business. They took money and employee cell phones.
After investigating, officers issued a warrant for 53-year-old Anthony E. Pierce from Calhoun City.
On December 23, Pierce was arrested in Chicago, by Chicago police, for traffic violations and was detained for the warrant out of Tupelo.
On January 5, after extradition back to Mississippi, Tupelo Municipal Court Judge Weird ordered Pierce to be held without bond.
This case will be presented to the Lee County Grand Jury.
