Man Stabbed With Large Hunting Knife In Lee County

Morgan Howard

Early Wednesday morning, the Lee County Sheriff’s Department responded to a stabbing on Highway 348 in Guntown.

At approximately 4:50 a.m., deputies were called to the scene after a male victim reported that he had been stabbed. When deputies arrived, the victim told deputies that he had gone to a home on Road 231 to see his daughter when he got into an altercation with another man at the home.

During the confrontation, the victim was stabbed in the abdomen with a large hunting-style knife. He was transported to the North Mississippi Medical Center by ambulance.

Deputies then went to the home on CR 231, where they spoke with a male suspect who confirmed he had been involved in a fight with the victim. Evidence was recovered at the scene, and the suspect was detained and taken to the Lee County Adult Detention Center for further investigation.

The case is still under investigation, and charges may be presented to the next Lee County Grand Jury.
