Jackson Police are investigating a shooting that happened on Sunday morning in the 5600 block of Gardenia St.

Jackson Coroner Sharon Grisham Stewart identified him as 41-year-old James Hudson.

He died from a single gunshot wound to the chest and died at the scene.

According to Officer Sam Brown, investigators are gathering evidence and information on possible suspect (s).

The name of the victim is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. Additional information will be provided as the investigation continues.
