On or around November 18, 2020, The Pearl River County Sheriff’s Office began an investigation on a man living in Picayune on 10 Luther Walker Road.
He was identified as Brandon Kieth Jackson.
The investigation concluded after a search warrant was executed, and Jackson was arrested on several drug charges including two counts of trafficking a controlled substance and one count of aggravated trafficking a controlled substance.
On October 9, 2023 Jackson was tried in Pearl River County on the charges and was found guilty of two counts of trafficking a controlled substance and one count of aggravated trafficking a controlled substance.
Jackson was sentenced on Friday, October 20, in Pearl River County. Jackson was sentenced to ten years on each trafficking charge and twenty-five years for the aggravated trafficking charge.
According to the Sheriff’s Department, Jackson moved to Pearl River County to set up a drug operation from another state.
“Jackson believed that he could come to Pearl River County and be safe with his operation…we hope that this sends a message to all drug dealers in our County that we will not tolerate drugs being sold in or around our County. We hope that they take notice that they will be targeted, arrested, and sent to prison when they are found guilty.”
