Man Being Transported To Raymond Detention Center Escapes Capitol Police Officer’s Car

According to Capitol Police PIO Bailey Martin, while officers were transporting a man to the Raymond Detention Center.

As the officer approached an intersection, the subject managed to jump out of the vehicle.

Additional officers arrived at the location and the man was taken into custody.

He was identified as 32-year-old Michael Fields.

He is being charged with Loss of a Stolen Firearm, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, and foreign warrants from Clinton Police and Hinds Sheriff’s Department, as well as escape.
