The Madison Police Department, in collaboration with the US Postal Service, arrested three suspects in connection with the break-in of several blue postal collection boxes in the metro area, including a large collection box in Madison.

The investigation began on August 5, after reports of the break-ins. Evidence led investigators to a suspect vehicle located on Lakeland Drive.

During a traffic stop, suspected burglary tools were found inside the vehicle. Further investigation by the Madison Police Department, US Postal Service, Capitol Police Department, and Hinds County Sheriff’s Department led to the discovery of an additional suspect at the Red Roof Inn on High Street. Inside the room, stolen checks and packages linking the suspects to the break-ins were found.

The suspects, identified as 21-year-old La Keith D. Fountain, 21, of Houston, TX, 22-year-old Quintin R. Hall, of Spring, TX, and 25-year-old Jazmine R. Page, of Avondale, AZ, were arrested and booked into the Madison County Detention Center on charges of petit larceny. They were given no bond as the investigation continues.

Investigators discovered that one mailbox at 990 Hwy 51 in Madison contained 133 checks totaling approximately $70,000. Other mailboxes in Brandon and Jackson, MS, were also targeted. Authorities are working with each respective agency to conclude the case, with additional charges expected as the investigation progresses.
