Madison Police Arrest Armed Carjacking Suspect After High-Speed Chase

Madison police arrested 18-year-old Montoya Motley of Gulfport, following a high-speed chase involving a stolen vehicle linked to an armed carjacking in Hattiesburg.

At approximately 6:30 PM, officers attempted to stop a 2016 Nissan Altima reported stolen from Hattiesburg.

The vehicle fled, striking three other cars before the driver lost control and crashed into a bridge on McClellan Drive.

Motley got out of the vehicle, armed with a handgun, and fled on foot into the Cobblestone Subdivision. He was apprehended shortly after, and officers recovered three firearms and a large quantity of marijuana.

Motley was taken to a local hospital for minor injuries and is now in custody at the Madison County Detention Center. He faces multiple charges, including Felony Fleeing, Receiving Stolen Property, Possession with Intent to Distribute, and Felony Malicious Mischief.

Further investigation revealed Motley is also wanted in Biloxi for Armed Robbery and possibly Kidnapping. Authorities in Madison are coordinating with Hattiesburg and Biloxi to investigate further and apprehend additional suspects
