The Lee County Sheriff’s Office, in collaboration with the North Mississippi Narcotics Unit and the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics, executed a search warrant in Verona after an investigation. The operation led to the arrest of 38-year-old Johnny Arnez Dillard on multiple drug and firearm charges.

Dillard, who is currently under house arrest with the Mississippi Department of Corrections for previous felony charges, was taken into custody from his home. He was charged with the following:

• Aggravated trafficking of methamphetamine
• Trafficking of fentanyl, hydrocodone, MDMA (Ecstasy), and oxycodone
• Felony possession of a firearm by a convicted felon (two counts)
• Possession of a stolen firearm

A Lee County Justice Court Judge has set Dillard’s bond at $750,000. The investigation is ongoing, and more arrests could be made in the future.
