Lauderdale County Teacher Charged With Making Terroristic Threats

The Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department arrested a teacher who allegedly made threats towards school personnel.

36-year-old Christian Johnson was arrested and charged with making terroristic threats.

The Sheriff’s Department began the investigation Monday after they were made aware of the posts.

Sheriff Calhoun said that based on the nature of the posts, the Sheriff’s Department contacted the FBI.

Through their assistance, an investigation was opened up. This led to a search warrant that was served Thursday night in Meridian

The FBI is working the case from a federal level. Sheriff Calhoun said that they arrested Johnson last night and charged him with “Making Terroristic Threats”.

He has been given no bond and will have a bond hearing Tuesday.

The Sheriff said this was a group effort and he thanks the community for letting them know about the threats.

Sheriff Calhoun talked about how a threat is just as serious even if it is made on social media. They take those very seriously.
