A juvenile has been arrested in connection with a threat made against Magnolia Middle School, the Meridian Public School District Campus Police Department announced Wednesday.

The threat, reported on Tuesday, September 3, prompted a swift response from school officials and local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies. After a thorough investigation, authorities determined there was no credible threat to the school or community.

Chief Cornelius Parks of the Meridian Public School District Campus Police Department emphasized the seriousness with which such threats are taken. “We take all threats seriously and will not tolerate actions that endanger the safety of our schools,” Parks said. “The swift response from school officials and the cooperation of the community played a vital role in resolving this matter.”

The juvenile faces charges of making terroristic threats, and the case has been handed over to the juvenile justice system. Due to the individual’s age, additional details will not be released.
