Police have arrested a suspect in a Wednesday homicide in Jackson.

Jackson Police Department detectives learned that the victim was physically assaulted in the 900 block of Carver Street. Unfortunately, the victim, Louise Tornes, was pronounced deceased on scene.

Detectives identified Jerry Banks, 42, as the suspect in the case and issued a warrant for his arrest.

On Saturday around 11 a.m., PD officers from the Action Unit and Precinct 3 arrested him and charged him with Murder, Burglary of an Occupied Dwelling and Domestic Aggravated Assault.
