Man Arrested After Large Amount Of Illegal Drugs Found In Jones Co. Apartment

On Monday, August 12, Jones County Sheriff’s Department (JCSD) narcotics agents executed a search of an apartment in the 2900 block of Holly Drive in Laurel, uncovering a significant amount of illegal drugs.

During the search, agents discovered approximately 6 ounces of methamphetamine, around 150 ecstasy tablets, and 1.5 pounds of marijuana.

The suspect, 36-year-old Justin Patterson, was arrested and charged with two counts of Trafficking a Controlled Substance.

Patterson, who was already on parole for a prior controlled substance sale in Jasper County, is currently being held at the Jones County Adult Detention Facility pending his initial appearance in Jones County Justice Court.

The operation was carried out by JCSD narcotics agents Sgt. Joel Brogan, James Bell, and Chase Smith, with support from the Jones County Sheriff’s Department Patrol and Court Services divisions.
