Jackson police are working the city’s 79th homicide after a Thursday shooting.

A release from Detective Tommie Brown said police got a call to a shooting at Maddox Foad and TV Road. When they got there, they found the victim dead on the scene.

The victim’s identity has not yet been released pending notification of the next of kin.
