UPDATE: Thursday, 11:41 a.m.

The suspected vehicle in this hit-run incident was recovered last night in a suspected arson. Jackson police say the vehicle was previously reported as stolen.

Jackson police are working in collaboration with the Hinds County Coroner’s Office to positively identify the victim in this case.

They are also working diligently to identify the suspect in this case.

Jackson Police released a BOLO (Be On the Lookout Alert) for a vehicle to find the driver after a man was hit and killed while walking across the highway near Walmart in Jackson.

According to police, a man was walking across Highway 18 Wednesday afternoon when he was hit and killed.

Police said the driver who hit the man kept driving.

The driver who struck the man did not stop.
