A shooting took place on Dalton Street near Jackson State University Sunday night.
According to the school, the shooting involved two individuals who are not affiliated with JSU.
The school said, “We are thankful that no students were involved or harmed.”
A security plan was implemented for homecoming, including an increased security presence and checkpoints to enter campus for the homecoming weekend.
The school said these security measures will continue.
