Jackson Police Department Achieves 77% Homicide Solvability Rate

According to Jackson Police Department, their Homicide Unit has reported a 77% homicide solvability rate.

A release from JPD says “achieving such a high rate is no small feat and reflects the unit’s commitment to solving crimes and ensuring those responsible for violent acts are held accountable.”

The Police Department posted on Facebook talking about how the process involves meticulous attention to detail, from preserving and processing crime scenes to interviewing witnesses, obtaining warrants, arresting suspects, and preparing cases for the Grand Jury.

Jackson Police Department has also been bringing back veteran officers who have left the force. Adding them back to the ranks brings back valuable institutional knowledge.
