A man is in custody after a standoff with Jackson County deputies, according to Sheriff John Ledbetter’s office.
The standoff began between 7 and 7:30 a.m. Thursday on Ridgeland Road in Vancleave, officials said, after a domestic dispute call came in to 911. When deputies arrived, they found a man barricaded inside the home alone.
The suspect, 42-year old James English, surrendered peacefully around lunch time and was taken to the Jackson County Detention Center.
English is charged with aggravated domestic assault against his wife.
