On Tuesday evening, shortly before 7:00 p.m., the Simpson County Sheriff’s Office received an E911 call from a home in the 1400 block of Athens Road.

The caller reported that her ex-boyfriend, identified as Brian Stinson, had entered her home armed with a rifle.

During the confrontation, another individual inside the home fatally shot Stinson.

Authorities have not released the identity of the person who fired the shot.

The Simpson County Sheriff’s Office, in collaboration with the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation (MBI) Crime Scene Unit, is actively investigating the incident.
