On July 27, Deputy Ethan Hester of the Prentiss County Sheriff’s Department took a report from a victim who came forward alleging severe domestic abuse.

The victim reported that her husband had beaten her the previous night at their home on County Road 6011.

She had visible bruising on her body, including marks around her neck, and said that her husband had choked her until she nearly lost consciousness.

He also took her phone and electronics so she couldn’t call for help. She said he also wouldn’t let her leave the home.

An ambulance was called to the sheriff’s department to provide medical attention to the victim. After giving her statement, the victim signed affidavits against her husband, leading to the issuance of warrants.

A search warrant was executed at the home, resulting in the recovery of evidence related to the crime. 45-year-old Brian L. Flanagan, of Baldwyn, was arrested and charged with Domestic Violence – Aggravated Assault and Kidnapping.

Justice Court Judge Ray Hall set Flanagan’s bond at $150,000. The investigation remains ongoing, and further updates will be provided as the case progresses.
