The Hinds County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) is actively investigating an online threat made against Terry High School earlier this morning via social media.

The source of the threat is being traced with help from state and federal law enforcement agencies.

Authorities confirmed that at no time were the school, students, or staff in danger, and the school was not placed on lockdown.

Additional security was provided on campus throughout the day as a precaution.

HCSO is optimistic about identifying the individual responsible for the threat, and potential criminal charges may be filed.

Sheriff Tyree Jones emphasized that all threats against Hinds County schools are taken seriously, and the safety of students remains a top priority.

The investigation is ongoing, and there are currently no additional threats. No further information is available at this time.
