Hattiesburg Police Seek Information On Memorial Day Weekend Shootings

Hattiesburg Police are investigating two separate shooting incidents that happened over the Memorial Day weekend. They are asking the public to help with information.

Country Club Road Shooting:

On Monday, May 27, at approximately 8:30 p.m., a shooting incident took place in the 1300 block of Country Club Road. Investigators said that some kind of altercation happened between a group of individuals, resulting in a gunshot being fired.

One male sustained a gunshot wound and was transported to a local hospital, where he is in stable condition.

While no arrests have been made, police have identified a person of interest in the case.

Hardy Street Shooting:

On Sunday, May 26, at around 1:30 a.m., Hattiesburg Police responded to reports of shots fired in the parking lot of a business in the 3600 block of Hardy Street.

When officers arrived, they found several shell casings in the parking lot and a bullet hole in the exterior of the building.

No injuries were reported. Police are reviewing surveillance footage from the area, but no arrests have been made.

Hattiesburg Police are urging anyone with information regarding either of these incidents or potential suspects to come forward.
