On Tuesday, September 17, at approximately 7:20 a.m., Hattiesburg Police responded to a report of a deceased person in the 300 block of Hillendale Drive. This is near Thames Elementary School.

A death investigation is underway, but authorities do not suspect foul play and have assured there is no danger to students or the public.

WLBT reports that the Hattiesburg Police Department confirmed it was not a student from that school.
