On Monday at 4:19 p.m., Hattiesburg Police responded to a call of a disturbance in the 100 block of East 3rd Street in Hattiesburg.
When officers arrived, they learned there was a fight between a group of individuals and a man was shot. He was transported from the scene to a local hospital, where he was reported to be in stable condition.
The suspect, Curtis Lavor Giles, 50, of Hattiesburg, had fled the scene by the time officers had arrived.
On Tuesday around 3:40 p.m., Hattiesburg Police located Giles, who fully confessed to the incident. Giles has been charged with one count of aggravated assault: use of a deadly weapon and has been booked into the Forrest County Jail.
