A Gulfport woman was arrested Wednesday, accused of abusing the 911 system.
A release from Gulfport Police Department says Angela Maria Shavers, 41, is charged with one count of Abuse of Emergency 911.
Police say last Friday just before 6 p.m. a caller using a fictitious name called in a drive-by shooting and said the suspect was a Gulfport police officer.
As the investigation unfolded, the caller was identified as Shavers, and police found that she had been convicted of a prior charge of 911 abuse earlier that day. The officer who had transported her after her conviction was the officer she had accused in the fake drive-by shooting, police said.
Shavers was processed and transported to the Harrison County Adult Detention Center, where she is being held on a $10,000 bond.
