The Gulfport Police Department shared the news on Facebook that retired K9 Luna passed away.

Luna and her handler and former Sgt. Wayne Payne were a dedicated part of the Gulfport Police Department.

The police department said, “They left an indelible mark on our community. Her invaluable contributions, resulting in numerous arrests and substantial seizures, will forever be remembered. Luna’s legacy lives on in the safety and well-being she brought to the City of Gulfport.”
