Just moments before a wanted flyer for Grenada County man Alfonso Cain was set to be posted, Grenada County Deputies apprehended him. Cain, who had entered a guilty plea to charges of Touching a Child for Lustful Purposes and Sexual Battery, failed to appear for his sentencing on August 2, 2024, in Grenada County Circuit Court.

Cain was initially ordered to return to court on August 2, 2024, for sentencing but did not comply. He was sentenced to 55 years in the Mississippi Department of Corrections. A bench warrant was immediately issued by the circuit court judge following his no-show.

The U.S. Marshal’s Service was en route to Grenada to assist in Cain’s capture when local deputies apprehended him on Lamb Road. Cain is being held in the Grenada County Jail.
