On August 2, the Grenada County Sheriff’s Office arrested a woman wanted for Kidnapping and Burglary in Tennessee.

Multiple other law enforcement agencies assisted with the arrest of Regan Kelly.

She was wanted in Tennessee on charges of Especially Aggravated Kidnapping and Aggravated Burglary.

The arrest came after Tennessee law enforcement, along with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, contacted the Grenada County Sheriff’s Office regarding Kelly’s whereabouts. A warrant had been issued for Kelly in Shelby County, Tennessee, and investigators tracked her phone to northern Grenada County.

With the combined efforts of the Grenada County Sheriff’s Office, Grenada Police Department, Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, and Mississippi Bureau of Investigation, Kelly was found on Carpenter Road by Grenada County Deputies and taken into custody.

The alleged kidnapped child was found at the house with Kelly, along with another child. Both children were unharmed and were taken to the Grenada County Sheriff’s Office, where they were released to their legal guardians after meeting with Child Protective Services (CPS).

Kelly was transported to the Grenada County Jail and has since been extradited to Tennessee to face charges. All individuals involved are presumed innocent until proven guilty in the respective court of jurisdiction.
