Two Residents Escape Out Bedroom Window In Greenville House Fire

Morgan Howard

At 10:13 a.m., the Greenville Fire Department was called to 2540 Mourning Dove in reference to a house fire.
When firefighters arrived, two occupants of the home were standing outside.
They said they had escaped the fire through a bedroom window.
Fire personnel used forcible entry tools to gain access into the structure; “the irons” (Halligan tool and Flat Headed Axe).
After gaining entry into the home, fire personnel began to conduct an offensive attack.
The fire started to spread throughout the attic, causing the integrity of the roof to weaken.
Fire personnel safely exited the structure and continued to extinguish the fire by conducting a defensive attack.
No injuries reported at the time of this Fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
