On September 18, Marion County deputies responded to a report of a vehicle theft on New Hope Kokomo Road.

While en route, they were informed that a family member of the vehicle owner had just found the stolen vehicle near the intersection of Old Foxworth Jamestown Road and Highway 587.

The family member was holding the suspect at gunpoint at the time.

Before deputies arrived, the suspect fled into nearby woods. A perimeter was quickly set up, and the Marion County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit was deployed to track the individual.

The suspect, identified as 27-year-old Vincent Chance Hunt of Foxworth, was later apprehended.

Hunt is currently being held at the Marion County Jail, charged with felony motor vehicle theft. The investigation is ongoing.
