Four Wanted In Connection To Shooting At Northpark Mall

The Ridgeland Police Department announced four men wanted in a recent shooting at Northpark Mall.
According to police, on Saturday, August 12th, at 4:13pm, Ridgeland police officers were dispatched to Northpark after 911 calls in reference to a fight with possible shots fired.
When officers arrived, witnesses told them that a group of six young men began fighting in the Food Court. One shot was fired.
Investigators responded to the scene and began to collect evidence.
Deputies from the Madison County Sheriff’s Department as well as Capitol Police responded to assist in any way needed. The situation was brought under control promptly and part of Northpark was closed until the scene could be processed and cleared.
One bystander was injured with shrapnel and refused medical attention.
Ridgeland police said that later that day, a person who had been shot in the hip came to Baptist Memorial Hospital in Yazoo City.
Investigators responded and spoke with the victim with the assistance of Yazoo City Police Department personnel.

James Earl Cole, Jr. (20) of Benton

The City of Ridgeland said they are working with the management of Northpark “to end this unacceptable activity.”
The police department said,
“You will see an increased law enforcement presence in this area. Northpark is a major shopping destination in the State of Mississippi and the men and women of the Ridgeland Police Department remain dedicated to the safety of shoppers at Northpark.”
