First responders and medical personnel go free to the MS Aquarium next week!

Mary Apel

If you’re gonna be near Gulfport and you have ID showing you’re a first responder or medical personnel, you’ve GOT to take this opportunity to check out Mississippi’s Aquarium!

From their (really cool) website:
“Mississippi Aquarium is Coastal Mississippi’s newest state-of-the-art aquatic family fun center. Located in beautiful Downtown Gulfport and overlooking Jones Park and the Mississippi Sound, Mississppi Aquarium is the home to more than 200 species of animals and 300 species of fish. Our well-curated exhibits include both native species and some that our guests may be seeing for the first time.

Start your adventure on the third floor of Aquatic Wonders, where our guests are encouraged to touch some of our invertebrates and stingrays. Continue our journey as you make your way further below the surface, including our 360-degree tunnel, which takes you on a path through our oceans exhibit. Guests can also participate in one of our SeaTrek Experiences or get up close and personal with some of our animals through dolphin and penguin encounters.

Mississippi Aquarium is open daily from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.”

One way we love helping you make connections with the aquatic world is introducing you to special ambassadors like Clementine here. Clementine is a Kemp’s ridley sea turtle which is one of the most endangered species of turtles in the world!
Kemp’s ridley sea turtles are also the smallest turtle species. They grow to be about 2 feet long and weigh up to 100 pounds.
Clementine’s in her 40’s which is pretty old for a sea turtle and she can often be found keeping to herself in the Oceans habitat of Aquatic wonders. She’s our favorite grumpy old lady!

Clementine is the same species of turtle that we help to rehab from cold stun events and to this day (and with your help) we’ve rehabbed nearly 200! —from the Mississippi Aquarium Facebook page.
