Firefighters Rescue Driver Trapped After Vehicle Flips Off Embankment In Jones County

One person was injured in a wreck in Jones County on Tuesday morning.
Shortly after 11:00 a.m. Tuesday morning, Ovett and Glade volunteer fire departments responded to a single-car collision on Highway 15 South near Victory Heights Pentecostal Church in Ovett.
When firefighters arrived, they found the vehicle overturned and down a steep embankment off the highway.
The driver of the vehicle was entrapped in the vehicle, which was resting on its side against a tree. The driver was critically injured.
Firefighters and other responders were able to complete the complicated extrication and pull the victim through the back window of the vehicle.
Firefighters assisted with not only extrication but also emergency care, traffic control, and establishing a landing zone at Victory Heights Church for the helicopter during the active scene.
Emserv Ambulance service treated the individual at the scene and Rescue 7 ultimately transported the victim to the hospital.
No other injuries were reported.  JCSO and MHP helped with the crash.
