Firefighter And Resident Injured In House Fire In Greenville

The Greenville Fire Department responded to a house fire at 4:09 a.m. The fire was at a home at the intersection of Hal Street and St. Charles.

When the fire trucks arrived, they saw the 1-story wood frame house engulfed in flames.

The fire was so intense that the home next door was exposed and began to burn as well.

A woman inside that house at 909 Hal Street suffered from smoke inhalation and had to be transported to Delta Health Center.

One firefighter suffered from minor burns to both his arms due to the intense heat from the fire.

He was transported by ambulance. Both the female and the firefighter are expected to make a full recovery.

The Fire Marshal, Fire Investigator and State Fire Marshal were called to investigate. This fire is under investigation.
